Alex's Baptism

This past Sunday, August 28th, Alexander James was baptized in the same church I was and the same church where Kris and I were married in October 2008. He did fantastic! He didn't even flinch when Pastor Robert sprinkled the water on his head. My sister Ali and her husband, Nathan are Alex's godparents and it was so great to have them standing there beside us at the alter. Alex had a lot of family there to support him, the boy is dearly loved! All of his grandparents were there and even his great grandma and grandpa Sheets. Some weren't able to make it but we know they were thinking of the Bambino! In our church, the baptism takes place during the regular service and in this case it was done early in the service which was a blessing in disguise. While Alex did great when we were up in front of the congregation, my mommy radar kicked in and it was becoming clear to me that Alex was getting tired. As soon as we got back to our pew, I quickly got a bottle ready and Daddy fed him. Only close to 2 ounces in and he was out cold!
He did through the whole service!

Afterwards, everybody came back to our house and had a fabulous lunch together. We had pulled pork (that was baked in beer, fabulous) all kinds of  great salads and goodies. I think everybody had a good time hanging out and celebrating our special little "big" guy :) and I enjoyed having both my family and Kris's family together, it isn't something that happens very often.

I am truly blessed to have the family I have. I cherish every one of them.
